Wishes

(Published in Graduate Anthology)

By Jennifer Christgau-Aquino

behind my bed

before my window

trees sweep

fog begs

for their ears of glass

& body of wings

free leaves &

popping seeds

i hover

the short hook

of a fly fisherman

still in my lobes & lashes

my whispering knees

i coax & capture

a chest of pillows

we feather the wind

tickle grass, dew
